How to choose sunscreen

The importance of daily sunscreen cannot be stressed enough for keeping your skin safe from premature aging and cancer-causing UV rays. Always choose a broad-spectrum formula with an SPF between 30 and 50.

Physical – Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are natural minerals that, when grounded to a fine powder, block harmful rays from getting in contact with your skin. Generally speaking, these formulas tend to have a heavier feeling but a longer life on the skin that their chemical counterparts. 

 

Chemical – Chemical sunscreens block UV rays with carbon-compound cocktails that reduce ultraviolet radiation penetration to the skin and can also contain UVB and UVA absorbing chemicals. They tend to have a lighter finish on the skin.
